Your Committee beg to present the Annual balance Sheet and Report for 1911.

Of the 21 First Class Matches played 10 were won, 5 lost, 3 won on first innings, and 3 lost on first innings.

The County was eighth in the Championship, two unaccountably bad weeks cricket, one in the end of June, and another in Bank Holiday Week in August, spoiling an otherwise excellent record.

Some very notable cricket was played during the season, especial instances being the Surrey match in Whit-week, the match against Middlesex at Lords where the eleven beat the clock in brilliant fashion, and against Lancashire where they scored 250 in the last innings with the loss of two wickets.

Hardstaff, J. Gunn and G. Gunn batted consistently well, Mr G. T. Branston scored 106 in one of his three inning.

The Committee were much encouraged by the performances of Messers. A W Carr and H A Hodges.

Wass, Iremonger, and Riley bowled well on the hard wickets, but the County needs a fast bowler.

Oates kept wicket, as usual, excellently.

Alletson at Brighton saved the match against Sussex and played the finest hitting innings of the season, making 189 runs in 90 minutes, the last 89 runs being made in 15 minutes.

Mr A. O. Jones was again most untiring and captained his team with great judgement.

One of the Test Matches, Australia v South Africa, will be played at Trent Bridge on the first three days in August Bank Holiday week, if in the two previous Test Matches between these Countries each has won a match, this match will be played to a finish.

The following matches have been arranged:-

One match at Lords v M.C.C., one match at Trent Bridge v Australians, one match at Middlesex, Surrey, Sussex, Leicestershire, Gloucestershire and Derbyshire.

The match v Australians at Trent Bridge will be the first played by them after their arrival in England .

The President of the Club in addition to rendering valuable services in securing increased memberships, most generously contirbued £100 to funs.

During the year Captain Tomasson resigned the Hon. Treasurership of the Club, and the Committee appointed Mr. C.W. Wright, who kindly consented to take the office.

As anticipated in the Committee’s last Report the financial position of the Club, has much improved after setting aside the sum of 3300, the guarantee to the Player’s Benefit Fund, a profit remains of £58  15s 3d.
