Your Committee beg to present the Annual Balance Sheet and Report for 1910.

Of the 20 matches played, nine were won, seven drawn, and four lost.

The County was fifth in the Championship, a creditable position which was earned by thoroughly good play. Under the old system of reckoning points the County would have stood higher in the list. The team last year was a good all round one, the play was consistent.

The thanks of the committee are once more due to Mr. Jones for his valuable services and untiring efforts on behalf of the Club.

Home and away matches have been arranged with the following Counties: Kent, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Middlesex, Essex, Surrey, Sussex, Leicestershire, Gloucestershire and Derbyshire; also one match at Lords v MCC and one at Bray v Undbrook C & G.

Ten Minor Counties matches were played of these four were won, five lost, and one drawn. The Committee thank the Rev. H. Staunton for his valuable services as Captain.

The Club and Ground played eighteen matches, of which ten were won, one lost and seven drawn.

The Gate Receipts of £1,155 17s 0d, were by far the lowest for many years, and were a striking contrast to the £2,023 6s 1d taken in 1908.

The Club sustained a severe loss during the year in the death of its President, Mr. Halford who was a life-long and earnest supporter of the Club.

The President of the Club most generously contributed £100 to the funds.

The amount now standing to the Players Benefit Fund Account is £1,355 0s 11d.

The financial position of the Club has been the cause of serious anxiety to the Committee. The large reduction in the Gate Money Receipts, due to the persistent bad weather of the season is responsible for much of the loss on the year. There was also an unfortunate reduction in the Membership.

The Committee have gone into the matter most throughly and have reduced expenditure largely. This has been done principally by the reduction of the Ground staff expenses, and the withdrawal from the Minor Counties contest. the Committee hope that with a good season as to the weather, the financial position will be more satisfactory at the end of the year. The Committee most earnestly hope that the Membership will increase during 1911.
