Trent Bridge

John F Bishop

John Bishop made three first class appearances for Nottinghamshire between 1923 and 1925 but failed to make any great impact. He took four catches at slip but didn’t bowl and scored a grand total of 21 runs. He scored two centuries for the Second Eleven against Lancashire at Trent Bridge in 1924 and Lincolnshire at Mansfield in 1925.

A loyal servant to Radcliffe-on-Trent who he captained for 25 years, Bishop tended his club’s ground between 1939 and 1945 and was a keen player of golf and tennis.
